On Thursday
February 28, 2013, the Town of Aurora hosted a consultation session as part of
their Business Retention & Expansion program (BR&E), a project
initiated in 2012.
The evening
kicked off with a review of the methodology, process to date and results from
over 150 business visitations that occurred primarily over the summer of 2012.
The nine
key trends that were validated from the BR&E surveys conducted at each
visit were presented, and grouped into three theme areas:
- How
We Grow
- Services
for Business
- Enhancing
Existing Resources
These theme
areas of three trends each served as the basis for lively breakout sessions
where groups rotated through each theme area to brainstorm action planning ideas.
Feedback from this session will inform a draft BR&E action plan to be
completed in the coming months.
