A strong and stable economy is essential to a healthy and prosperous community. Aurora is a community that encourages entrepreneurship and investment, protects the natural environment and local markets and attracts a high-quality, diverse workforce. Future economic growth will depend on a well-educated and trained workforce, new technologies, the availability of prime employment land and the exchange of ideas and information. 

The Strategic Plan's goals and objectives have been developed around the sustainability theme and based on the information provided through the consultation process. The following economic goal and objectives are included in the final plan:

Goal: Enabling a diverse, creative and resilient economy

Objective 1: Promoting economic opportunities that facilitate the growth of Aurora as a desirable place to do business

Objective 2: Supporting small business and encouraging a more sustainable business environment
