In April 2014, Aurora Town Council approved a bylaw to permit patios on Town right-of-ways.  This bylaw is intended to help achieve the vision of the Town�s Official Plan as it relates to the Aurora Promenade and downtown. It supports a vibrant and pedestrian-orientated environment and encourages economic spin-offs such as the use of downtown retail and services. Owners of restaurants and cafes who believe there is enough space in front of their facility to accommodate a patio, without compromising safety or accessibility, are encouraged to apply free of charge for permission to use the Town�s right-of-way for a patio.
